The end of the year is here and as I think of all the things that have transpired over the last 12 months, good and bad, the same reoccurring word pops up in my head — BRAVE. If I had to give 2016 a theme, it would be just that.
No, I didn’t go bungee jumping or skydiving over the Swiss alps. I didn’t do anything extreme with my hair (at least not this year), no globetrotting adventures across foreign lands (not yet), but I did do a couple of things this year, that even a fire-dominant girl like me, considered bold.
I let “the man” have it and wished him well
I left a place that I had so comfortably settled into after a decade.
I smiled a lot, especially during periods of adversity.
I went left, when they said go right. I publicly posted and talked about my out of the norm beliefs.
I enlisted the help of new counsel. Shout out to Ra El & Hathor
I asked for what I wanted (a raise, a date, a shot).
